On Thursday, September 5, 2013, at approximately 6:05 p.m., police responded to a personal injury collision at Milner Avenue and Scunthorpe Road.
It is reported that:
- a 62-year-old man was driving a 2002 GMC truck, westbound on Milner Avenue approaching Scunthorpe Road, in the passing lane
- an 88-year-old man, on an electric wheelchair, was attempting to cross Milner Avenue from the north side to the south side, within the pedestrian crossover, on the west side of the intersection
- the truck struck the pedestrian
The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced at the scene.
