The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a recent series of Break-and-Enters within the area of Avenue Road, Bathurst Street, Lawrence Avenue West and Eglinton Avenue West.
Between Wednesday, March 7, 2018 and Monday, March 12, 2018, a total of four overnight residential Break-and-Enters occurred, one in 13 Division and three in 53 Division. All four entries are in close proximity to each other, and appear similar in nature.
With all four incidents, it appears the suspects surveilled the addresses prior to attempting to break in. Furthermore, in all four entries the suspects attempted to gain or subsequently gained entry via the rear backyard door, or front door, to the residence. The time of the entries has ranged from late evening to as early as 5 a.m.
Residents are requested to be vigilant. The Toronto Police Service is asking residents to immediately report to police any activity they deem suspicious.
Residents should ensure that entry points to their premises are secured overnight, that security system alarms are activated if installed, and that interior/exterior lights are activated appropriately to deter future incidents.
Residents are encouraged to contact the 53 Division Crime Prevention Office at 416-808-5319 for crime-prevention strategies.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-5300, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com, or text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637). Download the free Crime Stoppers Mobile App on iTunes, Google Play or Blackberry App World.
