On Tuesday, September 3, 2013, members of the 23 Division Major Crime Unit, executed a search warrant at a house in the Pittsboro Drive and Finch Avenue West area.
It is alleged that:
- police located and seized three loaded handguns, an extra loaded magazine, 61 rounds of ammunition and a quantity of crack cocaine
Shane Campbell, 19, of Toronto; Jerome Allen, 24, of Windsor; Wesley Telfer, 21, of Toronto; Janilyn Batac, 24, of Toronto, and a 17-year-old boy were arrested and each has been charged with:
1) three counts of Unauthorized possession of a firearm
2) three counts of Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
3) three counts of Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
4) three counts of Careless storage of a firearm
5) three counts Possession of a firearm obtained by the commission of an offence
6) Possess firearm knowing the serial number has been altered, defaced or removed
7) three counts of Weapons dangerous
8) three counts of Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device
The name of the young person cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Janilyn Batac has also been charged with:
1) Possession of Cocaine.
They were scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, room 103, at 10 a.m.
