March is Fraud Prevention Month. The goal is for Canadians to Recognize, Reject and Report Fraud. Reduce Fraud by Increasing Fraud Awareness. Fraud Prevention Month is spearheaded by the Competition Bureau of Canada.
Throughout March 2018, Toronto Police Service Financial Crimes and its partners will be running a special four-week #Fraudchat series which provides the opportunity to engage Canadians with information to prevent them from becoming victims.
No demographic is immune to fraud, regardless of age, education or background. Fraud is a growing problem that affects everyone. Canadians need to educate themselves about the various types of fraud so they can avoid becoming victims.
