Four men arrested, face 22 charges in violent home invasion robbery, Dawes Road near Victoria Park Avenue

Toronto Police Service Hold Up would like to make the public aware of four arrests in a violent home invasion robbery.

On Saturday, December 23, 2017, four men attended an apartment on Dawes Road near Victoria Park Avenue.

It is alleged that:

- when a man answered the door, the four men forced their way into the apartment

- one man was armed with a rifle and two men were armed with knives

- a 28-year-old woman, in the apartment, managed to lock herself in the bathroom

- the men with the knives took physical control of the 24- and 29-year-old men in the room

- one of the men armed with the rifle discharged a round through the bathroom door

- the woman, standing on the other side, was grazed on her ear by the bullet

- the four men then fled the apartment

- police arrived and arrested three men fleeing the area and recovered the firearm

On Saturday, December 23, 2017, three men were arrested.

Jules Rouillard, 48, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Robbery with Firearm
2) Forcible Confinement
3) Discharge Firearm
4) Unauthorized possession of a firearm


Daniel Lavigne, 47, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Robbery with Firearm
2) Forcible Confinement
3) Discharge Firearm
4) Unauthorized possession of a firearm
5) Fail to comply probation


Shawn Dusome, 23, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Robbery with Firearm
2) Forcible Confinement
3) Discharge Firearm
4) Unauthorized possession of a firearm
5) Fail to Comply Probation and Recognizance

They were all scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, 9 a.m., room 505.

On Sunday, February 18, 2018, the last outstanding man was arrested. Jesse Lavigne, 25, of Ajax, was charged with:

1) Robbery with a firearm
2) Forcible Confinement
3) Discharge firearm with intent to Injure
4) Unauthorized Possession Firearm
5) Possession Firearm contrary to prohibition order
6) Fail To Comply Probation
7) Possession Cocaine
8) Possession For The Purpose Cocaine

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Monday, February 19, 2018, 9 a.m., room 101.
