Man, 50, faces eight charges in six bank robberies

Toronto Police Service Hold Up would like to make the public aware of a man arrested for numerous bank robberies in the past month.

It is alleged that:

- between Monday, January 22, 2018, and Sunday, February 18, 2018, a man committed a total of six bank robberies in Toronto's west end

- during the robberies, the man passed the bank customer service representatives a hold-up note demanding money and, in some instances, he threatened the victims

On Sunday, February 18, 2018, John Castonguay, 50, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) six counts of robbery
2) Disguise with Intent
3) Utter Threats

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on February 19, 2018, 10 a.m., room 101.
