On Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at 1:40 p.m., police responded to a medical call at 50 Empringham Drive.
Police and paramedics located a woman with severe trauma. She was rushed to hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced.
The woman has been identified as Jayanthy Seevaratnam, 46, of Toronto.
On the same date, the woman's husband, Kathirgamanatha Suppiah, 45, of Toronto, was arrested.
He has been charged with:
1) Second-Degree Murder
He was scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, 10 a.m.
A post-mortem examination determined the cause of death was a result of multiple injuries.
