Public Safety Alert, Halloween Candy Tampering, Ronald Avenue and Eglinton Avenue West area

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a case of Halloween candy tampering.

It is reported that:

- on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, during the evening hours, a family was out trick-or-treating in the general area of Ronald Avenue and Eglinton Avenue West

- on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, they opened a package of red ‘Twizzlers’ licorice candy, and observed a pin embedded in one of the pieces of licorice

- the candy was not consumed, no one was injured and police were notified.

The Toronto Police Service are continuing to investigate and are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any candy tampering to police.
