Edward (Ted) English, 69, facing two charges in ongoing historic Sexual Assault investigation

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in an ongoing historic Sexual Assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- in the summer of 1967, a man, 19, befriended the family of a boy, 13, through a church association

- the man convinced the boy to have a meditation session in private

- the man sexually assaulted the boy

On Monday, October 23, 2017, Edward (Ted) English, 69, then of Toronto, now of New Brunswick, was arrested by the RCMP on a Canada Wide Warrant.

The Toronto Police Service returned him to Toronto on Thursday, October 26, 2017. He was charged with:

1) Indecent Assault on Male
2) Gross Indecency

He is scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East, on Friday, November 17, 2017, 10 a.m., room 407.

He worked as a clergy member for the Christian Brotherhood in the late 60s and early 70s.
