Police request assistance in personal injury collision Pharmacy Avenue, at Leahurst Drive

On Friday, August 16, 2013, at 2:53 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Pharmacy Avenue, at Leahurst Drive.

It is reported that:

- a 49-year-old man was riding a Honda Shadow motorcycle northbound on Pharmacy Avenue approaching Leahurst Drive

- as the motorcycle approached Leahurst Drive, a darker vehicle turned from southbound Pharmacy Avenue to eastbound Leahurst Drive

- when the southbound vehicle made the left turn the motorcycle rider performed an evasive manouever, which caused the rider to cross in to the southbound lanes of traffic

- a 40-year-old man was driving a Dodge Caravan southbound on Pharmacy Avenue as the motorcycle stuck the Caravan

- the driver of the darker vehicle stopped near the collision scene for a short period of time and was last seen eastbound on Leahurst Drive

The motorcycle rider suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police are asking the driver of the vehicle which left the scene to contact police.

There was a white vehicle leaving the Fas Gas station at 2:53 p.m.

The driver of the white vehicle may have witnessed the collision. Police are asking the driver of that vehicle to come forward.
