The Toronto Police Service would like to update the public on a Sexual Assault investigation.
On Monday, August 28, 2017, at 9:32 a.m., police posted a news release which said that, on Thursday, August 24, 2017, at approximately 8 p.m., a 10-year-old girl was walking in the Don Mills Road and St. Dennis Drive area.
It was reported that:
- a man approached the girl and engaged her in a conversation
- the man sexually assaulted the girl
- the girl fled the area
The man was described as brown, 20-25, approximately 5'9", average build, no facial hair. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, sandals.
Investigators have since determined that the events outlined in the original news release did not occur.
