On Sunday, August 4, 2013, a man was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving which led to the seizure of a 25' sailboat.
It is alleged that:
- a man was operating a 25' white sailboat within Toronto inner harbour, northbound in blockhouse Bay, just east of Hanlan's Point beach
- the sailboat was being powered by a small outboard engine when it struck another power vessel docked on the west wall of the harbour
- the man operating the sailboat fell from the boat into the water
- the Marine Unit was dispatched and found the man swimming to shore
- the sailboat was seized by the TPS and is being held for forfeiture
Valetin Chygyrynskyy, 60, of Toronto, is charged with:
1. Impaired Driving
2. Driving while Over 80 mgs Operation
He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Tuesday, August 6, 2013.
It is alleged that:
