On Wednesday, July 29, 2013, at approximately 10 p.m., police received a call for a shooting at Weston Road/Lawrence Avenue West.
It is alleged that:
- a TTC bus driver stopped to allow passengers to exit the bus near Weston Road/Lawrence Avenue West
- the driver saw two males approach, one pointing a firearm
- the male discharged the firearm and struck the TTC employee in the forearm
It is further alleged that:
- a search warrant was executed and a BB gun recovered
On Thursday, August 1, 2013, a 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with:
1. Carry Concealed Weapon
2. Weapons Dangerous
3. Mischief - Wilfully interfere with the use, enjoyment or operation of property
4. Mischief Interfere with Property
On Sunday, August 4, 2013, a 14-year-old boy was arrested and charged with:
1. Point Firearm
2. Weapons Dangerous
3. Use Imitation Firearm to Commit Indictable Offence
4. Assault with Weapon
5. Carry Concealed Weapon
6. Mischief - Wilfully interfere with the use, enjoyment or operation of property.
The names of the young persons cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The arrest was made with the assistance of the 12 Division Neighbourhood TAVIS Initiative.
