Police request assistance identifying man in Theft investigation, Yonge Street and Bloor Street area, Security camera image of man released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance identifying a man involved in a Theft investigation in the Yonge Street and Bloor Street area.

It is reported that:

- on Monday, May 29, 2017, at approximately 5:30 p.m., a man, 80, who uses a walker, had just withdrawn cash from an ATM

- as he was leaving the bank vestibule, he was approached by a man who requested spare change

- wanting to assist the man, the 80-year-old man began looking in his jacket pocket for change

- at this point, the man reached into the basket of the 80-year-old man's walker, stole his wallet, and fled the area

The male suspect is described as 20-30, 5'10", 150 lbs. He was wearing a white hat, black knee-length jacket, blue jeans, black high-top running shoes and sunglasses.

A security camera image of the male suspect is attached.
