Man faces 16 charges in firearm investigation, Photograph released of handguns and ammunition seized

On Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at 5:50 a.m., members of the TPS Gun and Gang Task Force executed a search warrant at a home in the Albion Road/Weston Road area.

It is alleged that:

- police seized a chrome Smith & Wesson .38 Special Revolver and a .380 Lorcin semi-automatic handgun, including ammunition

- police also seized a quantity of cocaine.

Bashir Qureshi, 31, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition
2) Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
3) Unauthorized possession of a firearm
4) Careless storage of a firearm
5) Careless Storage Ammunition
6) Possession of firearm obtained by the commission of an offence
7) Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
8) Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
9) Unauthorized possession of a firearm
10) Careless storage of a firearm
11) Careless Storage Ammunition
12) Possession of firearm obtained by the commission of an offence
13) Possess firearm knowing the serial number has been altered, defaced or removed
14) Possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order
15) Possession for the Purpose Cocaine
16) Possession of Cocaine

He was scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at 10 a.m.
