The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of two arrests connected to a series of robberies.
It is alleged that:
- on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at approximately 1 a.m., two masked suspects, one armed with a black-and-silver long gun, approached a pizza delivery person in the Lee Avenue and Violet Avenue area
- he was robbed of cash
It is further alleged that:
- on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at approximately 4:30 a.m., a masked suspect, armed with a long gun, approached a taxi driver in the Kingswood Road and Swanwick Avenue area
- he was robbed of cash
It is further alleged that:
- on Monday, April 10, 2017, at approximately 4:05 a.m., a masked suspect, armed with what was described as a black long gun, approached a taxi driver in the Spruce Hill Road and Queen Street East area
- he was robbed of cash
On Thursday, April 13, 2017, at 12:26 a.m., police were called for a suspicious male going through vehicles in the Waverley Road and Norway Avenue area.
Officers from 55 Division attended and, after a brief vehicle pursuit, two people were arrested.
Samuel Wincenty, 18, of Toronto, was charged with:
1) four counts of Careless Storage of a Firearm
2) Possess a Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace
3) three counts of Possession of Firearm Other Than Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Without Holding a Licence
4) Possession of Firearm Other Than Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly Not Holding a Licence
5) Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm
6) four counts of Possess Firearm Obtained by Crime
7) two counts of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
8) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (over)
9) four counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (under)
10) Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
11) Robbery
12) two counts of Robbery with a Firearm
13) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
14) three of counts of Point Firearm
15) three of counts of Disguise with Intent
Emma Young, 18, of Toronto was charged with:
1) Careless Storage of a Firearm
2) Possess a Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace
3) Possession of Firearm Other Than Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Without Holding a Licence
4) Possession of Firearm Other Than Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly Not Holding a Licence
5) Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm
6) Possess Firearm Obtained by Crime
7) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (over)
8) four counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (under)
9) Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
Both attended court at Old City Hall on Friday, April 14, 2017, 9 a.m., room 101.
